So your looking to build your own pergola or at least cut the cost of getting someone in to build it for you!

My first pergola at my old house i had to pay $600 for a simple plan to be constructed and then that on top of that cost i had a ‘professional’ pergola construction team come in and build it for me!
Needless to say it ended up costing me a whole lot and after watching them build it i realized just how easy it actually was when you knew what you needed to do.
I knew i wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice and be deeply out of pocket.
So in my new house i also wanted a pergola but this time turned to the internet to see what i could find!
I wanted to cut my cost’s as much as possible and buy some complete plans that didn’t leave anything out.
I tried some of the free ones available online and found they all really only gave you a few images of a blueprint of the pergola in it’s finished state and unless you work 24/7 in the construction industry or have a very vivid imagination then it’s not going to be easy (it certainly wasn’t even understandable by my friend who is a carpenter by trade).
So then i tried the paid route… there were a few plans i tried but the main problem i found was that with all the diagonal sections and measurements being for one size only it really wasn’t practical to try and work them out.
I was about to loose hope until i struck gold!

Plus the price was very very reasonable compared to the $800 i paid before and they are easily customizable as i added a simple cover over mine for the winter and rainy days which wasn’t at all hard to construct myself.
These plans literally cost less than a simple meal out at a restaurant and the pergola plans are designed for a lifetime pergola and not some flimsy thing that will break and blow over by the wind due.
They are really top quality as you can see from some of the image example.
